📣 Weekly Project Update – Lunenburg County Mesh

Here’s a quick update on what’s been happening with the project.

Community growth
We’ve added 1 new member over the last two weeks. Growth is slow and steady, which is exactly what we want for something that’s community-driven. Welcome to everyone new — take a look at the pinned posts and jump in anytime.

New Meshcore OS for the T-Deck 🎉
A brand new operating system for the T-Deck was just released called MeshOS.
It’s built for Meshcore and brings:

  • A more modern, clean interface
  • Better usability on the T-Deck hardware
  • A big step forward in making these devices easier for everyday people to use

This is exciting because good software is just as important as good hardware when you want real community adoption.

Big achievements from other mesh communities 🌍

It’s also inspiring to see what other groups around the world are doing:

  • 📍 In Vancouver, a message was successfully sent over 800 km by LoRa radio all the way down into Oregon.
  • 📍 In Australia, there is now a mesh network stretching over 1000 km, running from Sydney straight through Melbourne and beyond.

I’m sharing two screenshots with this post showing these accomplishments. These aren’t just tech demos — they show what’s possible when communities build and maintain infrastructure together.

Why this matters here
Our project is still in the early stages, but seeing results like this helps remind us:

  • Long range is possible with planning and cooperation
  • Height, placement, and community participation matter
  • Slow, steady growth builds strong networks

As always, this isn’t a project just for technical people. There are lots of ways to help — sharing the idea, suggesting locations, planning, organizing, and spreading the word.

If you like what you’re seeing, please consider sharing the group and the website with friends or local groups. That’s how projects like this grow.

More updates soon — thanks for being part of Lunenburg County Mesh.
